#Brexit - Corbyn accuses Trump of interfering in United Kingdom politics with Johnson comments

Speaking on the United Kingdom and US Middle East policy, Mr Hunt said that Britain had never disagreed with the US on the threat posed by Iran, and that the two countries shared intelligence.

"They've got to get it done", he said.

But critics say the former London mayor, educated at the exclusive Eton College and Oxford University, is an opportunist member of the political elite seeking to get the top job at any cost.

"If they don't get what they want, I would walk away", he said.

Trump has also taken the unusual step of saying that Conservative Party leadership candidate Boris Johnson would make an "excellent" leader for the United Kingdom.

The state visit, promised by Prime Minister Theresa May back in January 2017 when she became the first foreign leader to meet him after he took office, is cast as a chance to celebrate Britain's "special relationship" with the United States, boost trade links and reaffirm security cooperation.

"I like Nigel [Farage] a lot".

"I would not want any company, whichever country it's from, that has a high degree of control by a foreign government to have access to our very sensitive telecommunications network", Javid told the BBC.

"They [the British government] won't bring him in [to Brexit negotiations] but think how well they would do if they did. They just haven't figured that out yet".

In an interview with the Sunday Times, Mr Trump said there are alternatives to working with Huawei, and warned the British government that it needs to be "very careful from the standpoint of national security". "That is a tremendous number".

A meeting with either Johnson, favorite to succeed May, or Farage, a populist anti-establishment campaigner, would be seen as a snub for May who is bowing out after failing to negotiate a Brexit deal that parliament could ratify. As May sees our her final week, the ruling Conservative Party-whose ability to command the British Parliament is far from certain-has now descended into a leadership battle.

Ahead of the prime minister's official resignation at the end of this week - after which she will stay on in a caretaker role until the new Conservative leader is appointed - reports have suggested the Trump administration views the state visit as an opportunity for a "reset moment" on trade.

And the Sunday Times reported his advice to Britain that Brexit Party leader Farage be appointed to negotiate Britain's departure from the European Union. And as you know, Stornoway is serious Scotland.

Trump also urged London to "sue" the European Union in order to give Britain greater "ammunition" in the Brexit talks. "Huawei equipment would never be involved in" intelligence-sharing channels.

From Stansted, he flew by helicopter first to the US Ambassador's residence in London - where he complained about the lack of availability of Fox News on cable - before venturing on to Buckingham Palace.

Mr and Mrs Trump will host a dinner at the U.S. ambassador's residence, attended by Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, on behalf of the Queen, on Tuesday evening.
