After Day of Pomp, May Hosting Trump for Talks

"Let's do this deal", Trump said.

"The bond between our nations was forever sealed in that great crusade", Trump said in a speech at the lavish banquet in his honor at Buckingham Palace.

However much Trump has warmed to May, he's been far warmer toward two of her vocal critics: Boris Johnson, a former mayor of London who once served in May's cabinet before resigning in protest; and Nigel Farage, a Brexit campaigner who makes semi-regular appearances on Fox News.

Their talks were accompanied by noisy protests from thousands of anti-Trump activists.

He tweeted on Monday that the USA could offer Britain a "big Trade Deal" once it drops the "shackles" of the European trade bloc of which it has been a member for 46 years. Huawei denies it is, or could be, a vehicle for Chinese intelligence. Also present: Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, and the president's daughter Ivanka Trump.

Stephen Colbert and CBS'The Late Show returned from having Memorial Day week off, and the host was unhappy that President Donald Trump "has fled the country knowing we were back on the air". The brooch was wrapped inside a custom White House jewelry box.

U.S. President Donald Trump and Queen Elizabeth hailed the bonds between the United States and the United Kingdom on Monday after Trump was feted with a day of pomp created to bolster an alliance strained by discord over Brexit and China.

During his visit, the USA president is set to hold talks with Mr Gove, according to a source close to the environment secretary.

"The Queen and the entire Royal family have been fantastic", Trump tweeted on Monday.

President Trump is no stranger to making social situations awkward. Organizers have permission from police to fly it for two hours.

While thousands turned out, the protests were significantly smaller than the anti-Trump demonstrations that emerged during the President's visit to the United Kingdom. In some ways, her talks with Trump will be purely symbolic since she'll soon hand over her myriad troubles, principally the Brexit matter, to a successor.

A future post-Brexit trade deal between the USA and United Kingdom has been a major talking point during Mr Trump's state visit, with his comments that the NHS should be "on the table" provoking outcry.

The two are meeting in London, just days before May is to step down as party leader Friday, setting in motion a race to succeed her as prime minister.

The second day of Trump's state visit will be filled with more official business than ceremony, he meets with May and business leaders to discuss trade and other matters. Trump told the Sunday Times in an interview that Britain should "walk away" from talks and refuse to pay a $49 billion United States divorce bill if it doesn't get better terms from the EU. In a column for The Observer over the weekend, Khan wrote: "It's un-British to roll out the red carpet for Donald Trump".

The economic meeting at St. James's Palace brought together 10 leading companies - five from the UK and five from the United States.

Protesters from all over Britain have traveled to London to join the demonstrations. They are inflating a blimp depicting Trump as a giant screaming baby to protest his visit.

The leader of the Labor Party, meanwhile, Jeremy Corbyn, wanted to meet with Trump, but the president declined, Trump said.

It is notable that opposition Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn will address the crowds.

"I think we'll have a very very substantial trade deal, it will be a very fair deal", Trump said.
