Keanu Reeves stuns E3 with major Cyberpunk 2077 announcements, release date

During the Xbox E3 2019 conference this Sunday, we saw a new trailer of CD Projekt RED's Cyberpunk 2077.

Knowing all this, me and some friends, soon after the E3 announcement, have actually asked ourselves if Reeves' Cyberpunk 2077 character draws inspiration from Gibson's story and offers an alternate ending to what might have eventually happened to Johnny Mnemonic.

Alongside the release date comes word of the expected Collector's Edition, which comes in a box modeled after one of Night City's buildings.

We learned more about CD Projekt Red's new RPG today, Cyberpunk 2077. As long as the person is Keanu Reeves and you're in a crowd and you're E3 and not some stranger on the street. If we knew any better we should be expecting him to play someone in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

During his brief speech, Keanu revealed the release date for Cyberpunk and as earth-shatteringly exciting as that is, it's not what I want to highlight in this post.

The official Cyberpunk 2077 unboxing video (which can be seen below) contains a hidden message to fans. After revealing on Twitter he was the one who shouted back at Reeves, CD Projekt Red replied to Sark's post, saying "it got you a free Collector's Edition on top!"

Keanu Reeves: "Okay, but let me tell ya". The game will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC platforms. Silverhand was mentioned in the game's E3 2018 gameplay demo, but with the slightest implication that the character had passed on. There's no word of whether we will get to see another longer gameplay trailer as we did previous year, but it's very likely a possibility.

The collector's edition will include a map of the game's setting Night City, a world compendium, postcards, stickers, the game's soundtrack, desktop and mobile wallpapers, an art booklet and a sourcebook for Cyberpunk 2020. Players can customise their character's cyberware and style among other things.
