David Ortiz's wife Tiffany issues statement updating Big Papi's health

His wife Tiffany Ortiz announced that the surgery was successful and that he's in stable condition in a statement provided by the Boston Red Sox.

The Boston legend was transported from the Dominican Republic to Massachusetts General Hospital with help from the Red Sox organization.

Meanwhile, Lopez, a close friend of Ortiz's who acts as both a spokesperson and personal media assistant, told Rivera that the 43-year-old "even flashed that smile" while in hospital.

Meanwhile, prosecutors in the Dominican Republic say a second person has been arrested in the shooting that happened in a crowded bar.

Eddy Vladimir Féliz Garcia was in police custody Tuesday morning after being pummeled by a crowd as he tried to escape the Sunday night shooting scene. One of the men then allegedly gunned down the former Red Sox star.
