Kyrie Irving Parts Ways with Agent, Considering Signing with Roc Nation

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Wednesday that Irving and agent Jeff Wechsler have parted ways.

Free agency begins on June 30, when Irving can first make a move.

Irving is reportedly planning on signing with ROC Nation Sports, the New York City-based agency founded by Jay-Z. "Durant's free agency has been complicated by a ruptured right Achilles that will keep him out of the entire 2019-20 season".

The Celtics have known from the start that the All-Star point guard will not be accepting the $21,329,752 for next season and will look to sign a longer term deal. Irving also played in nine playoff games as the Celtics were eliminated in the second round by the Milwaukee Bucks.

In the least surprising news story of the week, Kyrie Irving will become a free agent this summer. All Irving would have to do is sign a two-year deal with Boston that has a player option for the 2020-2021 season. Irving also set a new career-high in the rebounding department and continued to develop his game.

Boston is still pursuing a trade for Anthony Davis and the Celtics' plan was always to get Davis and pair him with Irving. Instead, he's eyeing a partnership with Roc Nation Sports, league sources told ESPN.

Though Carter has since sold those shares, he remains a big fan and Irving joining the agency will only fuel more rumors about his interest in Brooklyn. It is a feasible option, since going to NY motivates Irving, especially because he knows that they miss him.
