Microsoft announces Sony PlayStation 5 rival, ‘Project Scarlett’ at E3 2019

Various Xbox developers were wheeled out to talk about the capabilities of Project Scarlett and we heard buzz words and phrases such as; 8K, variable refresh rate (VRR), 120Hz, real-time raytracing, and ultra-low latency mentioned.

Project Scarlett, the next-gen console coming from Xbox at the end of 2020, will be completely compatible with all Xbox One accessories, as well as games.

The next Xbox Scarlett console also supports ray-tracing, and its system is geared with a solid-state drive (SSD), something that Microsoft's opponent, Sony, has vaunted about its upcoming PlayStation 5.

Microsoft said Sunday that the new console will launch alongside the game "Halo Infinite".

"When we think about the future of gaming, it's not just PC, it's not just console, it's not just mobile, it's literally all of the above".

"I have said over time I'd like to take Game Pass everywhere - I saw somebody joke I'd put Game Pass on a toaster if I could; I don't know about that", Spencer said.

Yes, Sam Fisher might have been mostly absent from E3 2019's Ubisoft presser - that spot in the mobile-only Tom Clancy's Elite Squad aside - but he's got a full four original Xbox titles being added to the Xbox One's backwards-compatibility list.

First off, let's explain what Xbox Game Pass is. Give people something to look to, so when they hear there's a game in development that's launching at a certain date, is it going to support X?

There you go then. In a way, the Xbox platform is becoming more and more like the PC ecosystem, with software compatibility going back generations and hardware from years' past that can still work with older and newer titles. That being said, Phil expressed that he doesn't know what kind of gaming console will it launch the next time, and he didn't reveal an approximate timeline for the launch of its next gaming console either. Who's console can stream better? Lucky for me, Square Enix is remaking the game from scratch for a modern audience, and based on the gameplay it showed off at E3 2019, Final Fantasy VII Remake will be more my speed.

Several technology companies are looking to boost services revenue through games streaming, including Nvidia Corp, Sony and Electronic Arts while Amazon.com Inc.is reportedly working on its own service as well.
