"Racist" Betsy Ross Flag Part of Obama Inauguration

The Tennessee Smokies, the Double-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, chose to rake the Betsy Ross American flag into its field design this evening.

Donald Trump Jr. on Wednesday lashed out at sports apparel company Nike for its decision to discontinue a shoe model decorated with a Revolutionary War-era American flag designed by Betsy Ross.

Nike has walked back its decision to release the red, white and blue version of its Air Max 1 sneakers ahead of the July 4 holiday. The design recently has taken another meaning for some Americans as far-right groups have claimed it as a symbol of their cause. She also believes Americans are "done with Nike". The tweet said "Hey @Kaepernick7 after a lot of thought, we have decided it's best to just do it. #America". Nike said in the emailed statement that it was still committed to building a manufacturing center that will create 500 new jobs, though it didn't specifically name Goodyear. The decision came after a suggestion by ex-NFL quarterback and Nike brand representative Colin Kaepernick that the design invokes associations with the era of American slavery. "Even if it means sacrificing everything".

"I hope Nike either releases these shoes or some other shoe maker picks up the flag, puts it on a pair of shoes and starts selling it".

It's the second time in two weeks that company has had to pull shoes out of political concerns. Kaepernick reportedly got Nike to pull the shoes from its shelves. The shoes aren't available through the company's apps or websites, the newspaper said.

Ron Slagle, who now works as a police officer in Iowa, told "Fox & Friends" Wednesday that those who were hoping to buy the Nike shoe, which featured the original Betsy Ross American flag, should check out his "Honor and Respect" sneaker instead.

Kaepernick made headlines a few years ago by famously kneeling during the national anthem while he played for the San Francisco 49ers.
