Chelsea boss Frank Lampard pleased after Dublin visit

Frank Lampard's Chelsea reign got underway in Dalymount Park on Wednesday night.

"You can see all the fans are very happy and now that we have the gaffer back at the Bridge we have to give back", Azpilicueta affirmed.

If he wasn't already, Frank Lampard must be giving serious thought to the prospect of taking the former Rangers prodigy with him to the Far East. "I know we have injuries - people back at Cobham now that are influential players for us at similar positions, so we'll need him".

Kante has missed the first set of pre-season games under the new Chelsea Manager, but is expected to get minutes when the Blues head out to Japan this week. I can't add anything to his career at Chelsea as a player.

Lampard fielded a young team against Bohemians, with the likes of Willy Caballero, César Azpilicueta, Danny Drinkwater, Pedro and Michy Batshuayi being the only senior players to start the game, while more senior players were introduced in the second half of the match. We will work hard because we have an exciting season ahead, new challenges and the only way to prepare it is by working hard and getting success at the end of the season. "Now we have been here in Ireland for a week or so now and we are all enjoying it and working hard". 'Sarri is gone and I can only wish him the best but it was his choice and now we have to move on.

"Frank was here for a very long and successful period so he knows what it means to try to be better every day". We have to be grateful and feel the passion for the shirt. But, after the players get used to it, they get better and better and the work becomes more effective.

With Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, Fikayo Tomori playing key roles in the 4-0 win at St Patrick's Athletic in Dublin on Saturday, with 18-year-old Billy Gilmour impressing in the second half, Luiz is excited at the potential of youth at the club.

Lampard's first competitive game will be against Manchester United on the opening weekend of the Premier League season, before Chelsea face Champions League winners Liverpool in the UEFA Super Cup on August 14.
