Chelsea teenager Ethan Ampadu is to leave the club on loan, according to new manager Frank Lampard.

"I think I inherited very good players".

"I know the club very well, I know the players very well".

"We can be better and stronger by having these players in the first team but also with the coaches working with a system so when the players come in it is easier for them [to adapt]".

The Blues have been banned from registering new players for two consecutive transfer windows after Federation Internationale de Football Association found them guilty of breaching regulations relating to the signing of under-18s. "We are looking forward to training hard and to having a successful this year under him".

Chelsea's batch of talented youngsters have been told that they only have this pre-season to impress enough to force themselves into first team reckoning.

Lampard, therefore, feels that a player of his quality would be wasted trying to compete for a place in a midfield stocked full of experienced European pedigree, and thus a loan move will help him develop his game further.

Aston Villa have been linked with a loan move, and with his future uncertain, the Wales worldwide has not joined the Chelsea first team in travelling to Yokohama, despite having played 45 minutes of the recent friendly draw with Bohemians.

The Championship club have been carrying out the checks on the Chelsea youngster and want to add him to their first team squad this summer. "They have to be the ones who play well enough to get into the team". We can't bring any players in this year, we know that, but I don't need new players. "I just can't wait".

As such, after omitting Ampadu from his pre-season squad that landed in Japan earlier today, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard was subsequently questioned on his plans for the Welshman for the coming season. "It's up to those young players to show what they can do".

Aston Villa target loan move for Chelsea defender Ethan Ampadu.

Chelsea play J-League champions Kawasaki Frontale in Yokohama on Friday and then face Barcelona in Saitama next Tuesday.
