Death Stranding is set for release for PS4 on November 8th, 2019.

Hideo Kojima received a warm reception when he fired out a shot at battle royale titles like Fortnite. As a surprise for the people in attendance Hideo Kojima unveiled a first look at the official box art of Death Stranding, and you can see it below. You nearly need a second look to realize this is taken straight from the game!

Yes, instead of Mads Mikkelsen aka Hannibal, players could have gotten a taste of John Wick instead as one of the many celebrity appearances in Death Stranding. Nicolas Winding Refn is playing the role of Heartman from the last trailer of the game. Refn has a role in Death Stranding of his own, with the Hollywood Reporter reporting that the crowd was shown new footage from the game showing off Refn's character, Heartman.

With Keanu Reeves being a hot topic among gamers thanks to his inclusion in Cyberpunk 2077, Kojima dropped an interesting fact about Death Stranding's casting process.

In the near future, mysterious explosions have rocked the planet, setting off a series of supernatural events known as the Death Stranding.

He said he decided to make "Death Stranding" as creative as possible because "I want to create something that gives more inspiration to the world". But you think about it ten years later, same as Bladerunner or 2001: "Space Odyssey". Then came streaming. Gaming will be streaming, too. The former Metal Gear Solid director is known for finding inspiration in all matter of things, from video games to movies to music. But, everybody loves Keanu Reeves, and given his fame, he could contribute to the popularity of the highly anticipated game.
