IMG signs distribution deal for inaugural Fortnite World Cup

With $30 million up for grabs, and a guaranteed $50,000 for all World Cup qualifiers, the Fortnite World Cup has pushed the competitive gaming landscape to new levels.

July 25 will also mark Fortnite's second birthday, and the event will last until Wednesday, July 31.

Epic Games has released a surprise patch for Fortnite, and it's Fortnite v9.41!

Available to download now, the new update adds the Storm Scout Sniper Rifle, Birthday Presents and Overtime challenges. It uses heavy ammo and comes in epic and legendary varieties.

When players aim down their sights with the Storm Scout Sniper Rifle, there is a separate map on the bottom right that shows the location of the next circle.

Other than that, Epic is bringing the Fortnite birthday event to Battle Royale.

You'll also be able to buy the World Warrior skin and accompanying wrap, which you can see in the featured image above. Consuming a piece gives you five health and five shield.

The final event taking place this week is the Fortnite World Cup Finals, which contains separate events during July 26, 27, and 28 such as the Duos and Solo tournaments and the Celebrity Pro-Am. Each present has six possible loot packages. Twitter users are already clamoring for Epic to return the Fishskin style to the Item Store, which they are likely to do before this weekend's event. As usual this made some big changes to the map, which will probably come into play as the game prepares to cycle over into Season 10, which could be coming fairly soon. The Battle Bus design and music was also changed for the occasion.
