Gareth Bale in limbo as Real Madrid KO exit to China

Wales winger Gareth Bale's move to China has been called off by Real Madrid, meaning he will be staying at the Spanish club.

The Wales worldwide had been poised to join Chinese club Jiangsu Suning on a deal worth a reported £1m-a-week, but that move fell through over the weekend.

Real chiefs were not happy with the deal, deciding they wanted more for Bale, who cost a world-record £85m in 2013 from Tottenham.

MATHIAS POGBA has said his brother Paul can help "idol" Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid if he seals his £150million move.

Furthermore, there have been reports Bale simply does not want to play in China due to its lack of notoriety and comparative resources.

The Red Devils made it clear that they will not let the World Cup victor leave unless the suitors match United's asking price, which is said to be over £150m.

On Monday, Xinhua news agency reported Bale's move has definitively been cancelled after the club signed the big Croatian Ivan Santini instead on Monday.

20-year-old Japhet Tanganga started at centre-back for both pre-season games against Juventus and Manchester United, playing alongside the experienced Jan Vertonghen.

We're now at the business end of the summer transfer window and managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads so we'll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe.

Whenever Real coach Zinedine Zidane has spoken about Bale or the Welsh international's future at the club, it has been with brutal bluntness.

His Bernabeu career got off to a thrilling start as he scored three goals in four Champions League finals as Real won the title in 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Bale's representatives are understood to be disappointed with Real's stance having negotiated the deal with Jiangsu over the last fortnight, with time running out to secure an alternative destination for next season.

However, it seems that Real have performed a dramatic U-turn and blocked the transfer.

"We hope he leaves soon", the Frenchman said about Bale.

Serbian starlet Luka Jovic hobbled off in the first half of the defeat to Atletico.
