Boston Celtics rumors: National Basketball Association 2019 Christmas schedule includes Toronto Raptors vs. Celtics

With so much offseason player movement, there are plenty of these types of games to go around.

For James, it would be a 14th Christmas appearance, two shy of Kobe Bryant's all-time record.

It's shaping up to be one of the most thrilling NBA Christmas Days yet. The projected top two teams in the Eastern Conference will face off as reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks will head to Philadelphia to take on Joel Embiid and the 76ers. They haven't had a Christmas Day matchup since 2001, despite having very strong rosters in that timeframe-this was a long time coming.

Opening Night will also showcase the defending champion Toronto Raptors, who will take on the New Orleans Pelicans in Zion Williamson's highly anticipated National Basketball Association debut. Even more surprising, the Los Angeles Lakers will battle with the Clippers in perhaps the most anticipated game of the season. The NBA recognized that and gave them a Christmas Day game against the Boston Celtics.

Christmas is the NBA's marquee regular-season showcase, and this season is no exception.

It was heightened by Paul George leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder to play with Leonard on the Clippers and Russell Westbrook escaping the Thunder to reunite with James Harden, to play for the Houston Rockets.

Toronto will be entering this season without superstar forward Kawhi Leonard after losing him in free agency.
