Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Beta Dates Officially Announced, Includes Crossplay Testing

If you have been following our news, you already knew that it was yesterday when Infinity Ward was finally revealing everything about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer. Modern Warfare will also bring unmatched intensity and authenticity to its familiar but fresh experience. Players can test out the game's cross-play functionality during the second weekend.

New gameplay mechanics including bullet penetration, gun mounting, door breaching and Multiplayer maps featuring night vision goggles (NVGs), allow for an unprecedented tactical experience for players. Infinity confirmed its existence today during the multiplayer reveal.

Players who decide to pre-order the new COD game, you'll be rewarded with early access to the multiplayer beta. Still, we've now that many upcoming games will support the feature, so it seems like both the technology and Sony have got to the place we want them to be. What do you think of Modern Warfare's multiplayer?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is scheduled for release on PlayStation 4 system, Xbox One, and PC on October 25.

The Modern Warfare multiplayer trailer has dropped, giving us a glimpse of what to expect when the remake arrives this November. You will also be able to take part in the new Ground War mode that features large-scale battles for more than 100 players.

In case you were anxious that this entry would only focus on smaller skirmishes, thankfully Activision put that to bed today. "We're doing away with the season pass; we're delivering a mix of free maps, a ton of content following launch, and we're developing the game for crossplay", says Kelly.

Unlike previous years, the beta will be open to everyone on all platforms, meaning that players will not be required pre-order the game to gain access.
