VAR Rules Out Manchester City's Goal Against West Ham

City kick off their Premier League campaign against West Ham looking to become the first team since Manchester United in 2009 to win three titles in a row.

Jesus broke the deadlock in the 25th minute, converting Kyle Walker's cross from close range after Mahrez had played the England right-back in on the right.

Man City predicted XI: Ederson; Walker, Laporte, Stones, Zinchenko; David Silva, Rodri, De Bruyne; Bernardo Silva, Aguero, Sterling.

VAR check decides Manchester City's Raheem Sterling's third goal is disallowed during the Premier League match at London Stadium. However, the VAR adjudged that Sterling was marginally offside as he ran into the box.

Sterling finally got the third goal for the Citizens 15 minutes before time after beating the offside trap to lob Fabianski following a delightful through ball from Mahrez.

Mahrez was left out of City's squad for the Community Shield against Liverpool last Sunday as they awaited medical documentation following surgery he had in Algeria after his country's Africa Cup of Nations triumph.

VAR has controversially overturned Manchester City's goal against West Ham in the Premier League. "The rhythm was not there but that's normal for the first game".

City controlled the last 10 minutes of the first half with their possession football, but they couldn't carve out any decent chances and West Ham would have been happy to go in at the break trailing by just one.

And City thought they'd made it 3-0 two minutes later through Gabriel Jesus. That isn't a guarantee to win games, but without it it's impossible, that's the first step.

The Victoria Road club will now travel to Halifax Town on Saturday before Boreham Wood visit on Tuesday as the busy start to the National League season continues.

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson says wantaway forward Wilfried Zaha, who Everton attempted to sign this summer, will feature against The Toffees.

That tag now belongs to Rodri after City met his £62 million (RM312 million) release clause from Atletico Madrid in the transfer window.

Sheffield United grabbed a late point away to Bournemouth on their return to the top flight after a 13-year absence.
