Philippe Coutinho WILL NOT return to Premier League this summer

Barcelona's attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho has been linked with a return to the Premier League for quite some time now but a deal looks highly unlikely now.

Coutinho's time at Barcelona has not gone to plan, while Liverpool achieved an incredible points tally of 97 last season and lifted their sixth European trophy.

This claim follows reports emerging from France that stated the Gunners were close to agreeing a loan deal for the player.

He told Cadena SER(as reported by Goal): "We've never talked about Coutinho".

"I think if the money was right that would be organised and he would play for Manchester United, if they wanted him".

Coutinho has previously worked under Mauricio Pochettino during a six-month loan spell at Espanyol in 2012, when the Spurs boss was managing the club.

The Dane is keen to leave north London this summer, and had been hotly tipped to move to Real Madrid.

The Brazilian playmaker is surplus to requirements at Barcelona, especially with the Catalan giants hoping to land Neymar in this transfer window.

Manchester United and Tottenham have apparently asked about the availability of Barcelona's Philippe Coutinho, while rumours on Tuesday suggesting that there was an agreement in place with Arsenal have now been chalked up as nothing more than opportunism by his agent.

"There was great excitement that Coutinho was on his way to Arsenal on loan", he said.

"We know they are looking at signing a midfielder".

Very conflicting reports appeared about Arsenal, while Tottenham have also been touted as an option.

If this move happens then it will obviously be a top signing for Arsenal but it has also created a few doubts in the fans mind since Unai Emery will have to sacrifice a forward player in order to accommodate the Brazilian.
