Hannity Defends Chris Cuomo After He's Filmed Threatening Heckler Over 'F*cking Insult'

In a way, the man was calling Chris Cuomo a stupid Italian-still not racist, but definitely rude.

Fox News' Sean Hannity stood up for Cuomo in a tweet, saying the on-air personality has nothing to apologize for, and the guy who called him Fredo is a "jackass". "I'll f*cking throw you down these stairs".

He's clearly trying to get a rise out of the CNN anchor... and boy does it work!

"I don't understand why Fredo set you off. At this point CHRIS CUOMO LOSES IT AND THREATENS THE MAN WITH VIOLENCE!" In "The Godfather", Fredo is seen as the less intelligent younger brother, cowardly and incompetent in the powerful family's business but desperate for respect from his father. In the films, Frederico Corleone was the family's "weak brother", who is an object of pity before being executed for betraying his brother, Michael.

"They use it as an Italian aspersion", Cuomo said.

As the tension rose, Cuomo suddenly shifted from his on-air voice to what might be described as a Sonny Corleone accent: "Any a you Italian?" It's an insult to your f*cking people.

Numerous memes of Cuomo as Fredo, or Fredo appearing on CNN, have appeared in numerous social media spaces. "Is that a cool f--ing thing?"

OK, that definitely doesn't equate. Being called Fredo does not, and never can have, the same implications as being called the N-word.

In the aftermath of the video going viral, it's been pointed out that Chris Cuomo previously referred to the Fredo character during a radio interview in 2010. At least not yet.

The instigator goes another way... However, that innocuous piece of flattery does little to placate the anchor, who says: "If you want to play, we'll f*cking play" and goes on with his rant peppered with profanities.

"It was surprising to me", Scotto said, calling it "PR 101" to not do that on a hot mic.

Loyal fans of Chris Cuomo will be happy to know that his fiery on-air TV persona is not an act. "Don't f**kin' insult me like that".

"You did not think my name was f**kin' Fredo, don't be a liar". Cuomo asks the man and unknown people off-camera.

As the interchange continues, the guy takes off his sunglasses - apparently getting ready for a physical interaction. Cuomo asks the group gathered around during the argument. I'll f***ing wreck your sh*t. "I'll f***ing throw you down these stairs like a f***ing punk. you're gonna call me Fredo, take a f***ing swing".

"What, so you can f--ing sue?" "They can spread lies, they can endanger people, knowing full well there's nothing behind what they're saying".
