Philadelphia Eagles Stand Tall Against the Green Bay Packers

The short-handed Philadelphia Eagles promoted the second-year undrafted cornerback to the active roster two days before the prime-time matchup in Green Bay. Compare that to the Eagles' Miles Sanders and Jordan Howard who accumulated 159 yards between them.

Avonte Maddox was carted off the field in Green Bay on Thursday night after being hit by teammate Andrew Sendejo.

Matt LaFleur said it is time to hit the reset button. Philadelphia played a mistake-free game on offence, they had no turnovers and ran the ball efficiently, effectively neutering the Packers pass rush.

On that same drive, Aaron Jones scored on a 3-yard touchdown run. After Green Bay went up 13-7, the ensuing kickoff went out of bounds giving Philly the ball at its own 40 yard line.

Wentz found tight end Dallas Goedert for a 3-yard touchdown strike.

There was a heavy indication of pass interference on the game deciding play, however, once again Green Bay elected to throw it on the goal line. However, a telling part of the loss is the fact that they came away with just three touchdowns in those seven trips on the night. Furthermore, the All-Pro quarterback completed eight of his 16 attempts for 68 yards and an interception without Adams in the fourth quarter. Goedert was very good in the blocking game as well. The 10-year veteran was shut out the past two weeks but rebounded with his second touchdown of the season and season highs in catches (six) and yards (61).

It took almost every second of the game clock to get it done, but Philadelphia was able to outlast Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers on the road on Thursday Night Football. The two-time MVP found Geronimo Allison for a 31-yard gain, and the pair linked up for a 19-yard touchdown to make it 21-20 at the half. Philadelphia took five plays to get to end zone capping the drive with a Carson Wentz pass to Alshon Jeffery. He was wide open on the play. Powered by Howard and rookie Miles Sanders, the Eagles rushed into the top 10 of the National Football League ranks in yards and attempts after Thursday night, while the Bears have struggled more to establish their own recalibrated run game.
