Hillary Clinton skewers 'corrupt' Trump amid impeachment inquiry

"It's your fault for coming on Ukraine week", Colbert joked to Clinton when she arrived on stage. After an F.B.I. investigation, then director James Comey announced that the agency would not press charges against Clinton, but referred to her actions as "extremely careless". The probe began after the Federal Bureau of Investigation received reports from the Australian government that a Trump campaign official, George Papadopoulos, had bragged to Australian diplomat Alexander Downer that the campaign had obtained incriminating documents on Hillary Clinton from Russian intelligence.

At the time, his affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky was exposed but he chose to lie about it.

She replied: "Oh, goodness, I think I'm so overwhelmed by my mother's answer that I'm a bit out of words", she said.

"It has been a gutsy journey for my mom to continue to fight for what she believes is right and to call out what she believes is so deeply immoral and stand for what she believes is so vital for our country today and for the world I know she wants her grandchildren to grow up in", Chelsea says.

Hillary and Chelsea Clinton have been doing the promotional trail for their book.

"I think, some days, he thinks about her even more than I do, which is saying a lot because I think about her a lot", Chelsea quipped.

Hillary and Chelsea Clinton were ostensibly on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" to promote their new book. She says she now supports his impeachment, following revelations about how he pushed Ukraine's president to investigate Biden, who is the frontrunner to challenge Trump for re-election next year.

The book holds 103 real-life portraits of unsung female heroes including Harriet Tubman, Helen Keller, Maria von Trapp and Anne Frank. Pompeo aggressively questioned Clinton during her appearance before that panel.

She also shared some reflections on the 2016 election.

The former Democratic presidential nominee also commented on the upcoming 2020 primaries, telling "The View", "I just wish everybody well". I'm very biased toward her very much and feel very protective of her, although I know she doesn't need me to be.
