Now, thanks to a teardown by iFixit, we can see what exactly Samsung updated in the Galaxy Fold to make it more durable.

Deliveries will start on October 17 for those who pre-order. To put it another way, the $1,980 you'll drop on the Galaxy Fold is more of an initial investment that's likely to deepen if you're determined to keep the phone working for a long time.

While Samsung has apparently fixed all that was wrong with the Galaxy Fold in real-life usage, we'd have to add that putting a ruler next to the bend showcases just how thick the phone is at the hinge part when closed.

Galaxy Fold with 12GB of RAM and 512GB internal storage is also available offline in 35 cities across select 315 outlets, including the iconic Samsung Opera House in Bengaluru.

iFixit previously tore down the Galaxy Fold back in April, before the phone was even technically released, having somehow acquired a recalled unit. iFixit really explored the device, providing details about why the phones were dying early and suggesting solutions for Samsung.

In terms of cameras, there's the addition of an 8MP wide angle lens while the other two sensors are the same as the Galaxy A20. It is 6.9 mm in thickness when unfolded and 17 mm thick when folded. The premium smartphone packs a next-generation AP chipset and 12 gigabytes of RAM, as well as six cameras.

As for the Operating System, the Galaxy A20s runs on the Android 9.0 Pie with the Samsung's One UI skin built on top of it.

Turning to the back, the device mounts three cameras in vertical layout as well as a circular fingerprint scanner.

SamMobile also claims that the camera on the Galaxy S11 will have a 108-megapixel sensor at its heart - a huge leap over the 12-megapixel main cameras in the S10 and Note 10. It's powered by 4,380mAh battery.
