Jets Excited About Sam Darnold's Return

The New York Jets quarterback was out for a month with mononucleosis.

Following a hot start, Dallas has suffered back-to-back defeats at the hands of the New Orleans Saints and the Green Bay Packers.

The Jets know Darnold, who is 22 years old and making just his 15th career start Sunday, isn't a miracle worker, especially coming off a serious illness that required him to rest completely for three weeks.

New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold has been cleared to play this week, according to multiple reports.

Anderson hurt a shoulder last week at Philadelphia, and will likely miss a game for the first time since signing with the Jets before last season. NY has given up a league-high 23 sacks this year despite only playing in four games; one of the few teams to already have its bye week.

When Adam Gase was asked this week about the top-ranked Cowboys offense, the Jets coach wasn't sure where to begin.

The Jets are still searching for their first win of the season at 0-4, but certainly are a more worrisome opponent in the AFC East with Darnold at QB rather than third-stringer Like Falk.

"This is not good enough against a bunch like this, last weekend or this weekend", owner Jerry Jones said.

Garrett has led the Cowboys to the postseason three times since taking over for as the head coach in 2010. He left Sunday's game against the Eagles with a shoulder injury.

Now, with the Cowboys falling to 3-2, losers of consecutive games, those same folks are playing devil's advocate.

Dallas also signed linebacker Jaylon Smith and offensive tackle La'el Collins to long-term extensions, while defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence was retained to the tune of a five-year deal worth $105 million.
