Tyson Fury: Braun Strowman WWE match confirmed for Saudi Arabia

With his signing, Velasquez joins the likes of Lesnar and Ronda Rousey as former UFC champions on the WWE roster. His upcoming contest with fellow champion Deontay Wilder could be put on ice if he doesn't first rid himself of the larger than life Braun Strowman.

Fury will make his WWE debut at Crown Jewel when he takes on Braun Strowman after they had a heated run-in at Smackdown. Velasquez knocked out Lesnar to win the UFC heavyweight title in 2010.

WWE officials announced Friday that Velasquez will be part of the professional wrestling organization's "Crown Jewel" event on October 31 at King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

WWE executive vice president Paul Levesque, more commonly known as Triple H, said: "Braun Strowman will step into the ring with the man who is undefeated in 30 fights, the 6ft 9in "Gypsy King", Tyson Fury".

ESPN reported this will be the first match in a "lucrative", multiyear deal Velasquez signed with WWE.

Raimondi added that Velasquez has been removed from the UFC's USADA drug-testing pool as well as the UFC heavyweight rankings.

The announcement came at the end of a week that started with Fury and Strowman brawling at Monday Night Raw.

Tyson Fury has grabbed all the headlines in WWE since his confrontation with Braun Strowman on last week's debut episode of SmackDown on FOX. Velasquez returned to the UFC earlier this year against Ngannou with a provision that he could also perform in pro wrestling. Cain said he beat Lesnar before and he'll beat him again. Injuries, unfortunately, kept Velasquez out of competition for significant amounts of time. I thanked him and the company for everything that they did.
