Gators No. 10 in CFP rankings, and that’s okay

Ohio State topped the playoff rankings, followed by LSU, Alabama and Penn State.

But one more regular season loss could prove costly, even if the Bulldogs were to win the SEC Championship Game.

The first official College Football Playoff rankings are finally here. Two of its past three wins have come against ACC teams with winning records. Clemson can claim the loser role again, while all the stories focus on the winners of the LSU-Alabama and Ohio State-Penn State clashes. The team is off this weekend and travels to Houston on November 16. "In the end, what it came down to, Penn State has marquee wins against 14th-ranked MI and a road win at 18th-ranked Iowa". The Maize and Blue beat Iowa by a score of 10-3 and blew out Notre Dame, 45-14.

Would the CFP Committee choose a one-loss Alabama or LSU over a two-loss Georgia that won the SEC Championship Game? No. 3 Alabama (-6) and No. 4 Penn State vs.

As there is the potential for upsets and the strong likelihood that some of the teams ahead of Florida won't be in a matter of weeks, the Gators - provided they take care of business with Vanderbilt, Missouri and Florida State - could see themselves move up higher. Those teams could include teams such as No. 6 Georgia (7-1), No. 7 OR (7-1), No. 8 Utah (7-1) and No. 9 Oklahoma (7-1).

The College Football Playoff selection committee has a great deal of respect for what Kansas State has accomplished under new coach Chris Klieman. "Very good on both sides of the ball, explosive offensive playmakers, and Chase Young is probably as disruptive of a player as there is in the country", playoff committee chairman Rob Mullens told ESPN.

Baylor and Minnesota are the only other undefeated teams in the field.

None of Clemson's victims to this point wound up ranked, and it grew to become certainly one of exclusively two groups from the questioned ACC to make the record, the opposite being No. 19 Wake Forest (7-1).

Also, since the CFP was adopted before the 2014 season, no "Power 5" conference team has gone unbeaten and been left out of the top 4. Oh, and Penn State wrestling.

OR and Utah each lead their respective divisions and could end up playing in a Pac-12 championship game with a playoff berth on the line. "If we lose to the state of North Carolina, are we going to celebrate, & # 39; Woo!"

That was the case in 2018, when they had to postpone an annoying offer from Texas A, amp;M and came from behind to beat Syracuse without Trevor Lawrence.
