Republicans put whistleblower on their wishlist of impeachment witnesses

Republican Rep. Mark Meadows of North Carolina said Williams was asked about Pence's September visit to Warsaw, Poland, where he met Zelinskiy. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff announced Wednesday that three State Department witnesses will appear in two hearings next Wednesday and Friday: Taylor, career department official George Kent and Marie Yovanovitch, the former USA ambassador to Ukraine.

Schiff also told Nunes that Democrats do not intend to request public testimony from every witness who previously testified behind closed doors in depositions or interviews as part of the Trump impeachment inquiry.

In the request that the anonymous whistleblower be asked to testify publicly, Nunes writes that Trump "should be afford an opportunity to confront his accusers".

The poll was executed between October 30 and November 3 during the ongoing impeachment inquiry, and it remains to be seen how the investigation could affect voters' preferences, if at all. And just four per cent of African Americans said they think Trump's actions have had a positive impact on African Americans in general, while 81 per cent said they think they've been bad. "These consequences, I fear, will be long-lasting", Bakaj added.

The whistleblower accused Trump of inappropriately pressuring Ukraine to investigate the activities of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and his son Hunter. The committee also must consider whether to summon the witnesses sought by Republicans, who call the impeachment process a sham.

Yet, he still said that his committee was "evaluating" the request and vowed to "give due consideration to witnesses within the scope of the impeachment inquiry, as voted on by the House". House Democrats are accusing the president of leveraging his office and withholding US aid to pressure Ukraine to investigate and obtain information on a political opponent-2020 Democratic candidate Joe Biden.

Trump has called the inquiry a hoax and denies that anything was inappropriate about the call.

As vice president, Joe Biden pressured Ukraine to fire its top prosecutor, Viktor Shokin, because Biden and other Western officials said Shokin was not sufficiently pursuing corruption cases. Hunter Biden served on the board of the Ukrainian natural gas company at the time.

"Black Americans have never had a better champion than President Trump", said senior campaign adviser Katrina Pierson in a statement.

Senators could say they disagreed with the House process, he said, or they could simply say that as potential jurors in an eventual impeachment trial they wouldn't discuss it, according to the people familiar with the meeting. "The question is, did the President of the United States violate the Constitution. And did he profit from his office". He again called on Trump to release his tax returns.

Kent said the words Trump wanted to hear from Zelenskiy were relayed to Kent by others in the administration who dealt directly with Trump.

Vindman also said he wanted to amend the White House's rough transcript of the call in three places, notably by filling in the ellipses when Trump was discussing CrowdStrike, the security firm that's central to the alternative theory of 2016 election interference and a server storing Hillary Clinton's emails.
