Bengals draft targets to know in heavyweight Alabama vs. LSU showdown

Any chance of Ohio State football playing a game against another top-5 opponent during the regular season went out the door when Penn State lost to Minnesota 31-26 Saturday afternoon. Six-one loss teams are on their heels in Alabama (8-1), Georgia (8-1), Oklahoma (8-1), OR (8-1), Penn State (8-1) and Utah (8-1). As the No. 1 team in the country, the Buckeyes are expected to be in the playoff come December.

The Tigers are going to the ACC championship game, but they need to take care of Wake Forest and SC before they get there.

Ohio State's final three games consist of Rutgers, Penn State and a trip to Ann Arbor to face MI.

So we will nearly certainly see two or three teams drop out this week and open the door for new programs to gain recognition from the selection committee. LSU just beat Alabama! But that was no longer true once the Gophers (9-0, 6-0) kept their record ideal with a 31-26 win over the Nittany Lions. The team's only defeats of the season have come at the hands of Ohio State and Michigan State.

Each team added a field goal before half, but it was thanks to Winfield that Penn State didn't get six. Oklahoma also has to do it with enough style points to make the committee forget about the Crimson Tide. This is going to be a month-long argument. The Sooners defense fended off a last second 2-point conversion to secure the victory and move to 9-1.

The Bears have maintained an undefeated record nine games through the season. The offense that went three-and-out consistently in the first half returned to their usual selves scoring quickly and efficiently in the second half.

OR has the same problem as Oklahoma.

But while the Wolverines came into the season with a bevy of ranked opponents, 4-5 MSU long fell out of the rankings, while another future contest looks to be a ranked-on-ranked matchup, with IN making its Top 25 debut, ranked at exactly No. 25. While those three storylines are often referred to and still debated, they're also not the norm, as 17 of the past 20 semifinalists have been conference champions. "Offensively, we certainly scored a lot of points, but onside kicks are hard, but at least we gave ourselves a chance to fight back into the game".

Yahoo Sports' Pete Thamel reported after the Alabama game that LSU officials have engaged Brady about a contract extension and raise during LSU's bye week.

Timing was off on a few throws and the interception to linebacker Patrick Queen was not a throw to remember, but it was Tagovailoa's presence that impressed Stevens. The Crimson Tide are ordinarily dominant at home under Nick Saban, but not tonight.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire ran for three touchdowns and caught a scoring pass, getting emotional on the sideline after a late touchdown that appeared once again to put the game away. The debate will be between Georgia and Alabama. The Bulldogs can dominate the SEC East all they want.

The Tigers were unable to get a first down and had to punt it back to the Tide.
