Halsey appears to have referred to her 2020 Grammys snub as she accepted her first-ever American Music Awards win on Sunday night.

Swift accepted the American Music Artist of the Decade Award. After all, Cabello added: "The inspiration behind my album is really being in love". The public spat culminated last week with Braun saying that his family had received numerous death threats after the pop singer urged her 122 million Instagram fans to let Braun "know how you feel about this". "As a songwriter it's so thrilling to me that I get to keep doing that".

That performance Swift was speaking of was put in jeopardy by Borchetta and Braun, she said in a November 15 social media post. Gomez started things off on an emotional note as she belted out "Lose You to Love Me" in a black gown before switching into a sparkly leotard and getting down to "Look at Her Now". "But the truth is I am older now and I'm also an artist and apparently I'm doing okay". Later, Selena appreciated all the compliments and thanked her fans for their humble support. Notably, fellow AMA recipients Camila Cabello and Halsey joined Swift onstage during "Shake It Off".

The Magic singer also shared some shots from behind-the-scenes at the AMAs where she also gave fans a glimpse of her new tattoo.

R&B singer Ciara, who is hosting the show airing live on ABC from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, performed after Gomez. Along with this, she will also receive the "Artist of the Decade" Award.

Twain was part of an all-star roster of performers from across all genres, including Selena Gomez, Billie Eilish, Camilla Cabello, Dua Lipa and Lizzo. Although BTS was not present, they were announced as the victor of Favorite Duo or Group - Pop/Rock, Tour of the Year, and Favorite Social Artist.
