Liverpool sweating over Fabinho injury - Jurgen Klopp

"In this moment, the game is over, my problem is Fabinho is injured and Brighton (is on Saturday)", he said after Dejan Lovren's header cancelled out Dries Merten's contentious opener.

"They're a good team with good players so we knew it would be hard". It's still early and we all hope it's not too serious but it's pretty painful in an area you don't want to have pain.

Klopp said of the injury: "I don't know [the extent]".

The equaliser finally came when Lovren headed home from a James Milner corner in the 65th minute and while there was plenty of pressure from the home side in the latter stages they were frustrated by Ancelotti's well-marshalled defence.

"We would have liked to have won tonight to finish the job off, but Napoli are a good side and made it hard and we could only get a point", Reds captain Jordan Henderson told reporters.

Liverpool though will need at least a point in Austria on December 10 to avoid elimination and given their fixture congestion next month - in which they will feature in the Club World Cup in Qatar - this was a frustrating result. "Last year we had to win at home 1-0 against Napoli, I can not remember a bigger pressure game than that".

"Two things that shouldn't have happened".

Dejan Lovren equalised for the Reds in the second half but they were unable to find a victor on a frustrating night. Second half, it was this normal game when you play against a quality side who defends with all they have.

10 minutes after the restart, Liverpool wasted a glorious chance to score the leveler, when Roberto Firmino found a loose ball inside the box after Meret failed to catch Jordan Henderson's cross tightly.

"We scored a goal, a really nice one and then we continued to chase the game". Like I say, we're still in a healthy position but we need to get a result away now.
