National Football League player stabbed in chest, shoulder at apartment complex

Pryor had 16 total receptions in eight games last season while playing for the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets.

Shalaya Briston was charged with attempted homicide and aggravated assault in the altercation that led to Pryor being stabbed Friday night in Pittsburgh.

National Football League wide receiver Terrelle Pryor reportedly was stabbed in the chest and shoulder at a Pittsburgh-area apartment around 4:30 a.m. ET Saturday morning, as first reported by WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh and later by ESPN.

Schefter reports Pryor was stabbed in the shoulder and chest.

Police said they responded to UPMC Mercy Hospital after a male stabbing victim arrived in critical condition just after 4:30 a.m.

A third-round pick by Oakland in 2011, Pryor never stuck as a quarterback and switched to wide receiver.

Terrelle is now a free agent, after the Jacksonville Jaguars released him this season, but he's best known for his years leading the Ohio State Buckeyes. from 2008 to 2010.

Pryor, 30, played three seasons for Ohio State, throwing for 6,177 yards and 57 touchdowns and rushing for 2,164 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Pryor is now a free agent.
