London Bridge Attack: Several Injured After Stabbing Incident, One Suspect Detained

Sky News reported that the police had shot the apparent attacker.

The New York Police Department said there are "currently no specific or credible threats in NYC" following the incident in London.

Earlier, the Met said it had detained a man and said a number of people were believed to have been injured. BBC reporter John McManus was in the area and said he saw figures fighting on the bridge. "It was large blade, it wasn't small, and then I was locked on the bus, people tried to tackle to man trying to fight him, ordinary people jumping out of the vehicle, trying to fight him", Griffiths told CNN.

London Ambulance Service has declared a "major incident" and have a number of crews at the scene.

Another man, also believed to be a civilian, is then forcibly pulled from the suspect by armed police, who appear to then fire two shots at the suspect.

"We are working jointly with the city of London police as we continue to respond".

The suspect, who hasn't been identified, reportedly injured 10 people - killing two - before he was shot dead by police.

Fishmonger's Hall is a historic listed building on the north side of the bridge in the centre of the capital.

Noa Bodner, who works in a restaurant on London Bridge, said staff and customers were moved away from doors and windows.

Police have cordoned off the bridge.

The cars and buses of the busy bride stood, with a white truck standing diagonally across the rails.

A statement from the public transport association said: "Because of an on-going police incident at London Bridge, NO trains will be stopping at the station".
