People Dead, 3 Injured in South Dakota Plane Crash


The Weather Service warned of ice, snow and winds gusts asstormy weather around the United States is predicted to hit millions of travellers returning from Thanksgiving trips.

According to the NTSB on Twitter, it is confirmed that a Pilatus PC-12 crashed.

'The men and women of law enforcement, first responders and medical professionals should be commended in their heroic actions to rescue the victims in extreme weather conditions, ' the state's attorney office said.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.

Knudson says the NTSB will investigate the crash, but inclement weather in the area is making travel to the site hard.

The area is under a severe winter storm warning with heavy blowing snow or freezing rain. "Motorists are asked to postpone any travel until weather and road conditions improve and heed the many posted "No Travel Advisories". It reportedly went down in a cornfield south of Chamberlain.

Two Idaho Falls businessmen were on the aircraft with their father and other family members. There was no immediate word on the identities of those on board, but federal records show that the aircraft was registered to Conrad & Bischoff, a company based in Idaho.

The death toll includes two children, according to NBC news.
