This year's Christmas theme at the White House: Patriotism

Author and designer Coleen Christian Burke has worked with several First Ladies to bring together their unique vision of Christmas at the White House.

Melania Trump announced "The Spirit of America" as the theme in a tweet that included a minute-long video of the Christmas decorations being unveiled. "I am delighted to share this attractive exhibit of patriotism for all to see, and excited for everyone to experience the beauty of the Christmas season!"

To spread holiday cheer, the exhibit features ornate paper stars that are hung from the ceilings along with a festive red carpet and light fixtures.

The first Christmas was a dazzling sparkling winter wonderland theme, the second Christmas was the bold red trees that went viral on social media.

The First Lady, 49, shared a video of the look on her official Twitter and Instagram accounts earlier today.

The popular display also features models of landmarks from across the country, including Mount Rushmore, St. Louis' Gateway Arch, the Alamo, the Liberty Bell and the Statue of Liberty, besides the Golden Gate Bridge and the Space Needle. No matter which state they call home, many Americans share a strong set of values and deep appreciation for the traditions and history of our great nation.

The decorations include more than 15,000 bows, 200 pounds of gingerbread, and 58 Christmas trees, the statement said.

The official White House Christmas tree is decorated in the Blue Room and measures more than 18 feet tall.
