Natasha confronts her past in first Black Widow trailer

The first exciting trailer for Black Widow, Marvel Studios' second female-led feature, is finally here, comrade!

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is in an interesting place right now, as it's interim period between phases.

Want to be notified of all the latest movie trailers? The reason to stick with Black Widow is less about Natasha, and more about Yelena.

Black Widow hits theaters on May 1, 2020.

Played by Scarlett Johansson across the MCU, we learn the origins of Natasha Romanoff this time around. In the years since, she's appeared in The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Age of Ultron, Civil War, Infinity War and Endgame. All the "Black Widows" were sterilized, so Natasha is unable to bear children. So smart money says she gets the duds in Black Widow, possibly meaning that the movie directly connects to the events of The Russo Brothers' massive blockbuster. The trailer also reveals two other characters from Natasha's past: Red Guardian, played by David Harbour, and Melina, played by Rachel Weisz. The film has Scarlett Johansson reprising her role as the badass SHIELD agent and former Russian spy Black Widow.

The film promises great visuals and action sequences, all the while telling the story of Natasha Romanoff before she joined the Avengers.

"The film deals with real, complicated stuff", Johansson said in a USA TODAY interview, where she called Widow "a character that has a lot of shame". She's really grappling with her own self ... The action-packed 2 minute clip gives a fair idea as to what this Cate Shortland directorial is going to look like. "In that moment, you actually have to face yourself".

With a first full look at the masked villain - the Task Master, the tease has given out enough to keep fans on the edge eagerly awaiting the film's release on April 30 in India.
